Copper River Rafting Trip from Chitina Alaska - 6-Day

6-Day Copper River Rafting Trip from Chitina Alaska

6-Day Copper River Rafting Trip from Chitina Alaska

6-Day Copper River Rafting Trip from Chitina Alaska -- Our Copper River trip traces the historical path used by the first Alaska explorers, native traders and the copper miners, to penetrate through the massive Chugach Mountain Range from the interior to the coast.

Alaska's fourth largest river travels from the dry interior climate to the temperate rainforest along Prince William Sound. Its route through the Chugach Mountains, bordering the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, is the main flyway for most of the waterfowl in North America during early summer and fall. A world class spectacle of glaciers, icebergs, and wildlife.

Railway relics of the turn of the century copper mining era combine to make this journey a wilderness experience rich with human history. In fact, the United Nations named its river delta a World Heritage Site!

This is a 120 mile trip from Chitina to Cordova.
